Had a man written this, there would have been zero credibility; so with that said, I thank Esther Vilar for being courageous in exposing how women have the high potential to be manipulators and exploiters. Esther brings up some really great points and sheds much light to how women think about love, men, money, relationships, kids, marriage and work. This book was written in the 70's but is still very relevant today. The only difference is that more and more women are in the workplace but their underlying ill-intentions towards man and marriage are still there. Here's an excerpt from the book: "The more he tries to ingratiate himself with her, the more demanding she will become; the more he desires her, the less she finds him desirable; the more comforts he provides for her, the more indolent, stupid and inhuman she will become - and man will grow lonelier as a result. Only women can break the vicious circle of man's manipulation and exploitation - but she will not do it. There is absolutely no compelling reason why she would. It is useless to appeal to her feelings, for she is callous and knows no pity. And so the world will go on, sinking deeper and deeper into this morass of kitsch, barbarism, and inanity called femininity. And man, that wonderful dreamer, will never awaken from his dream"--Will never awaken from his dream-- In the past few years, men have been awakening. Prepare for a battle Men. Once you take the Red Pill, there's no going back! Stay awoke!

I would start your education with The Rational Male, then I would read The Rational Male Preventive Medicine, and finally finish with this book. You will never be the same person again, you will never look at them the same again, such is the price of an education.

A dark, disturbing book that in my experience has many golden nuggets of truth spread throughout. Vitar is given to using hyperbole, but she makes her points well. I had a woman ask me to find her a boyfriend who was ugly and rich. Rich goes without saying, a point Vitar makes repeatedly in her book. Ugly so no other woman would want him, reinforcing a point Vitar makes in her book that women do not care so much about the male appearance.

What makes this book worth reading is the author's willingness to describe her politically incorrect observations about women's bad behavior. Of course, there is a plethora of books concerning men's bad behavior, but few authors or academic researchers are willing to discuss similar observations concerning women's bad behavior, and when they do, the consequences are never pleasant for the author or researcher. The result is a one sided discussion on gender with men being blamed for nearly all of society's woes, and women being mainly attributed innocent victim status. This attitude implies women have very little agency, which does little to advance women in society.Emma Watson's 2014 UN speech called "He for She" is a good example of the current politically correct attitudes on gender. In her speech, Ms. Watson acknowledged that men have problems, but that men's problems will be resolved when they help women solve women's problems. Therefore, the "He for She" title. This attitude implies that men should suppress their problems and feelings for the betterment of women, and that women have little to no agency in resolving their and society's problems. Of course, this is complete non-sense, and should be considered an insult to all women because it implies that women do not have equal agency as men. Children are attributed low agency status, and it's an insult to call a grown adult a child. Without equal agency, can there be equality? Or maybe by deliberately ignoring women's agency, politically correct attitudes on gender do not seek equality? In addition, this attitude also ignores the relationship between the genders.Esther Vilar has some very insightful and politically incorrect observations about women's bad behavior. She attributes women's bad behavior to culture and learning, which implies agency, and therefore, also implies equality. If men can act badly, why do we become so defensive when someone points out the bad behavior of women? This is definitely a subject that needs to be explored to fully understand the human experience. The book was written over 40 years ago. It's more likely many of the author's observations are the result of biological impulses that evolved in our distant past instead of learned behavior. EO Wilson's "The Social Conquest of the Earth" is a good book that describes our evolutionary history, and some of the biological impulses that are the result of that history. Video blogger Karen Straughan (aka Girl Writes What) also discusses many of the topics described in this book within the context of contemporary research on evolutionary biology. However, this doesn't invalidate Esther Vilar's observations, which are a little extreme at times but also based on accurate observations. Her observations will help both men and women recognize the toxic behavior of some women that is otherwise ignored by a politically correct society. And for that reason, the book is worth a read.

It's mostly opinion, but every man desperately needs to hear it. It's a salty, scathing critique of both men and women as we engage in our interactions. As a man, it's all of your frustrations with women put into words, but don't think you'll come out smelling like roses -- there's some in here for you, too. It's a short, easy read (semantically, syntactically, lexically, but not emotionally).

Caveat: read the theory contained in the book "The Rational Male" before reading this book. This will help this book make more sense. The above caveat is because by reading the Tomassi book first, this book that originally sounded like conjecture and intellectual arrogance might actually have a point. In particular, the end of this book sounded exactly like the environment I work in currently as of writing this review. Given that the author of this book is female and openly writing similar statements about women 35 years prior to the advent of Tomassi's work is amazing. Now if reading another book beforehand is a bit too time consuming, then do take EVERYTHING in this book with a grain of salt. The conjecture about religion, specifically honing in on Christianity, takes away from the credibility of this book.
