It's Harper, so you KNOW you're getting the best that there is and none of these short stories disappoint! I also recommend reading the full-length novels based on some of the stories.When reading these, be sure to take breaks and stay hydrated!

I fell in love with Harper Bliss when she first started publishing books because I loved the ' heat' she put in her books. Well she is back with all that glorious romance and sex in this terrific collection of short stories. There is every type of sex stories in this collection from raw to incredibly warm romance. I plan to keep this book on my desk top to reread a story or two when I need to escape from the craziness that is the political situation in the US. I can't recommend this book higher, if you like stories with HEAT, buy this book you won't be sorry.

I snuck one in during a quiet moment and, while it was a delicious midday escape, the rest of my afternoon was a total loss and I really can't recall much of what was discussed in that production meeting.But if you want to treat yourself to some really well written erotic short stories then grab this one with both hands. Okay, maybe just one hand, the other one may be busy...

I don’t usually read short stories. Usually I prefer getting in depth with characters. But for some reason, I really liked this book. Maybe because they’re hot short stories, but as another reader commented, they provide enough depth of character to be satisfying while getting hot under the collar- (and other places.)

Kudos to Harper and Caroline Bliss for assembling these past short stories and creating In the Arms of a Woman. The stories were highly varied in topics but contained one common theme......they were all steamy erotica. No wonder Harper and Caroline suggested reading only one story per day on their podcast!

Very good bio of GW Carver for elementary age children. The picture on the front does not do the book justice at all! Should have been the photo of George Washington Carver or at least a drawing of him!

Bought it for local Boys & Girls club, in association with talking about Mr. Carver's many achievements.

After having my son read this book he became very excited about growing peanuts and told me everything he learned about sweet potatoes. This is a very good book about George Washington Carver. He was truly an amazing human being.

I have wanted a copy of this book for a long time. This is my favorite bio of him, so far. I used to read it to my fifth grade classes before I retired. I usually cried.

My children and husband absolutely love these National Geographic books! I think we have them all. We rotate them according to the season. They are nonfiction but use great pictured of real kids, and they’re short enough to be an easy bedtime story.

Great pictures and straight to the point text. Its exactly what I was looking for to use with my pumpkin until study.

All of these National Geographic books are great and you cannot go wrong for the price. They have beautiful photography and make learning come alive for kids. Both my five year old and seven year old love these books and we bring them out as the seasons change to help illustrate what is going on in our own back yard. Your child will not even know he/she is learning!

This was really great for a kindergarten pumpkin unit. It’s wxactly what it says it will be. New October favorite for me.

Great for our homeschool fall lessons. We read this before visiting a pumpkin patch. We opened a pumpkin and grew one of the seeds. This book was detailed and simple to follow.

I thought that this book was really informative and held my 6 year old daughter's interest. The pictures are beautiful and when we went pumpkin picking she quoted facts from the book. I also bought the book "Apples" which is done the same way as this. I love both books and think they are a must have for fall!!

Great book. Very informative. I used this for a lesson in my first grade class. The children loved it and it let itself to multiple teaching opportunities.

As a school librarian I am always looking for books that are interesting, stimulating and creative. This book exceeds all my expectations. The photos are beautiful, and the corresponding text is simple yet thought provoking. In addition to those I got for my library, I purchased ten copies to give out as holiday gifts. After showing a few to some friends, people wanted to buy my copies from me to give out as gifts! I'm keeping at least three for me... one for my coffee table, one for my library and one for my classroom. And another for my niece too! I have the feeling I'm going to be buying more of these very soon.

What a wonderful idea! I just love looking at the world in a different view and Eric shows that you can find a little love just about anywhere. I bought this book to share with my 9 month old and hopefully spark that creative view on life as well.

I adore this book and frequently order copies for gifts (great for all ages). The author will have you finding magic in the mundane and seeing 'hearts' throughout your world. Here's hoping for a follow up :)

Fascinating - certainly a cosmo-philosophic viewpoint incredibly relevant for Our times. The beauty of Devi's work is that she (re)presents a cosmology which is not only classic - primitive in a sense - but eternal and still important for any age, thus ageless. Any person who has a sense that things really aren't right in the world would benefit from a read of this book. Although it is somewhat 'heady' it is not so abstract to make it incomprehensible. This work is truly a wonder as it brings out a meaning to life which is precious - strong, empowering, and hopeful. That just as we can understand the cycles of nature, we can understand the greater cycles of existence in a cosmic way.Devi first presents the characteristics of the Men 'in time, above time' and 'against time'. Ghenghis Khan is the quintessential man in time - a man driven by will, but not driven by any higher purpose but to will for himself. Akhnaton is the quintessential man 'above time' - a man who is driven by will who creates with purpose, but his purpose is so high that he goes over the heads of those around him who are lost in time, thus his creation is doomed to disappear after his leading will leaves the sphere of time. Then there is the Man against time - the quintessential embodiment represented in the Man of the 20th century, Adolf Hitler: a man possessing characteristics of a man 'in time' who is driven by Will, but also a Man 'above time' who creates with a higher purpose, thus making him a Man against time. A man against time will appear during the age of dissolution during the time cycle - during the time of decay - and with an indomitable Will create that which is built upon higher ideals against those of the time. Because He seeks to bring forth those elements of the purest point of the eternal time cycle - those elements of beauty, strength, nobility, and more - He is also seen as a destroyer of the present elements that interfere with the expression of those purer elements.Ghenghis Khan is presented by Devi as 'Lightning' - power - with a Will to Survive and a Will to Conquer. Akhnaton is presented as the 'Sun' - the seat of 'Truth, Light'. Hitler is presented as both Lightning and the Sun - possessing the Will to Survive and to Conquer, and the Light of the Sun devoted to the higher ideals of cosmic law - order, freedom to Be, Creativity, the drive to ever higher expressions of Life rather than Its degradation and destruction. But Devi presents Hitler as the Man-not-yet-to-Be Him who completes the Cycle in order to usher in the new cycle of 'The Golden Age'. Hitler was but the avatar - of sorts. The One who sheds light upon that which will, that which must, Be. In this way, Hitler, and National Socialist Germany, are martyrs to the world in time. To Devi, Hitler was more Light than Lightning - he spared those who continued their fight when he could have utterly destroyed them (i.e. the compassion for the English at Dunkirk). Hitler and the People of National Socialist Germany are an image of what is to come - both a harbinger of 'good' to those whose souls desire the Eternal Laws, and a harbinger of 'bad' to those who revel in the disregard for those Laws. Devi then discusses the Man to come who will be equally both Lightning and the Sun - the Man who will return, Kalki, The Avenger. Each of those who are in current time are left to decide their fates according to their choices - it is a question of who will stand when the New Age begins - when the complete Cycle begins again.This is but a simple and incomplete description of the contents of 'The Lightning and the Sun' - it does not compare to the depth and poetry of Savitri Devi's marvelous work. Whether one wishes to believe her premises and her conclusions - her philosophy - one will certainly be fascinated by its content. This is an exceptional read.

Savitri Devi makes you think. I've always regarded the intensity and longevity of the anti-Nazi hate phenomenon as something suspicious. Most alleged or ostensible villains fade into "history" (textbook narratives) within a few decades. But the animus against Hitler and the Nazis has been kept alive and, if not fresh, at least vigorous. One would be right to wonder why that is so.It turns out that the Jews have been profiting from Holocaust propaganda, probably far more than they should have profited. It might also be the case that Hitler was the good guy in the Second World War, and that if England and America had been wisely and honestly led, they would have joined forces with Germany to put an end to Communism, rather than take sides with the USSR to put an end to National Socialism. That might have led to a global cultural renewal of humanity, instead of its taking a downward cultural trend toward degeneracy, as actually did happen.

Received in perfect condition. Book is grammatically correct and typos are nonexistent. Reprint is flawless and a must have. 14.

Samuel Edward Konkin III's New Libertarian Manifesto could be seen as the "Final Revelation" of libertarianism. While Murray Rothbard synthesized Austrian free-market economics and classical liberalism to create the philosophy of libertarianism (aka "market anarchism" or "anarcho-capitalism"), SEK3 takes things a step further, and offers a strategy for achieving "agorism" -- libertarianism in practice. That strategy is "counter economics.""Counter economics" probably needs a new name. It is short for "counter-establishment" economics, and was widely understood as such in the aftermath of the "counter culture," but now the term "counter economics" sounds like "un-economic" or "anti-economic." Regardless, SEK3 was anything but "anti-economic" -- he was a student of the Austrian school, and dedicated the New Libertarian Manifesto to Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard (and Robert LeFevre). What is meant by "counter-establishment" economics is eschewing the "white" market -- that is, the state controlled market -- for black (illegal, non-violent) and grey (of questionable legality) markets. The idea is that evasion, avoidance, and ignoring of the state will lead to its demise.Konkin also discusses a "red" market -- that of violence. This is distinguished from the black market, even if both are deemed illegal by the state. Prostitution, where the prostitute is voluntarily engaging in the sale of sex for money, is a black market activity. But where the girl is forced to prostitute herself by an abusive pimp, it is red market, and not condoned.Konkin makes the case that there are already millions of black- and grey-market operators throughout the U.S. Not only drug dealers and prostitutes, but unlicensed auto mechanics and plumbers, underground hair dressers and daycare providers, and countless independent contractors who underreport their taxable income. The "New Libertarian" strategy, says Konkin, should be for libertarians to mix with these people and convert them to libertarian philosophy. This will allow them to shed their guilt and give up their dreams of "going straight" once they have enough money. Konkin wants to libertarianize "counter economists" (black-market participants) and "counter-economize" libertarians.The Manifesto also contains critiques by Murray Rothbard, Robert LeFevre, and "Dirty Pierre" (whoever that is). As an avowed Rothbardian, it was painful for me to read Rothbard's entirely off-base critique, in which he levels at least two absurd allegations against Konkin, champions the "Libertarian" Party and political action in general, and even defends the despicable Kochtopuss. One key issue is that Rothbard says SEK3 is against wage labor -- it's absurd, since that is clearly not the case. But SEK3 responds (the responses to the three critiques are also contained here) that while there's nothing morally wrong with wage labor, it is strategically inferior to independent contracting due to tax withholding and regulation.Rothbard scores one solid point in his critique, though, which is that it's much harder for large-scale manufacturing businesses to be fully "black market." This is true, but if Rothbard were alive today, he'd see there was little manufacturing left in the U.S. anyway, and all those wage workers he said Konkin abandoned are in constant danger of losing their jobs -- many already have. It seems that independent contracting is thus not only preferable for agorist strategy but also for personal freedom and security.LeFevre's criticisms rest upon his asinine pacifism, and Dirty Pierre's are swiftly rebutted by Konkin. Perhaps the Manifesto could have been better and longer, but as the dedication to Chris R. Tame says, it was better that SEK3 got it written than perfectly right. Unfortunately, "Agorism" -- which was to be what Das Capital was to NLM's Communist Manifesto -- was never completed before Konkin's death. I wish there were more old agorist literature, particularly because the people who've taken up "agorism" today have blended it with socialism, social anarchism, mutualism, etc., (none of which are mentioned in the NLM), but on its own, this Manifesto is definitely more than enough to make the case for agora, anarchy, action!

For years, this book has remained an entirely relevant guide to pushing the state into irrelevance. Though he is now deceased, Samuel Edward Konkin (SEK3) has forever made his mark within the minds of radicals who feel all functions of government should either be privately provided or done away with altogether.The central idea this book illuminates that distinguishes it from typical anarcho-capitalist writings is what SEK3 has dubbed "Agorism." This is both an ideology as well as a tactical plan for how to do away with the state. There are two main pillars that the book highlights as being part of agoric thinking. First, it is an adaptation of Robert LeFevre's concept of agoric institutions. This is basically a preference over individual contractors as opposed to large corporations. The book rightfully describes big corporations not as flowing from a free market, but instead as creatures of the state.This preference for individual contractors makes perfect sense; if a business performs a service poorly because of the mistakes of a single employee, should the business be held accountable or should the client have the choice of selecting a different employee for the task? Obviously the latter is ideal since large businesses are simply "voluntary" versions of collectivist enterprise.Simply put: Corporations don't screw up, individuals do. The New Libertarian Manifesto also gives an brief but excellent account for how an agoric society would operate in practice. SEK3 describes how market-based actors could provide safety and security, and his account for how the role of insurance would play in the process was truly an eye-opener for me.Pages 28 through 30 contain a swift account for how agorism would deal with crime, and I would highly recommend that readers lay out the process such a system would deal crime in a step by step fashion to really grasp the beauty and ingenuity of what Konkin is advocating. His description of restoration (in the form of restitution, time preference, and apprehension) is a must-know for all those who call themselves anarcho-capitalists, market anarchists, agorists, etc.Secondly, agorism has a very potent way of eradicating the state far better than parliamentary political activity. Think about it, can you recall a single election when voting reduced the size of government? While I think this book overstates the case against voting by condemning it as "evil," it does demonstrate that agorism is far more powerful in downsizing government. In a nutshell, it consists of minimizing governmental contacts by keeping all economic activity in the black (or gray) markets. Here the government is hopeless in taxing what you produce, and eventually if the private sector becomes powerful enough, the state will no longer have any power over you. The full details of how this would play out are outlined both in this book and in another book that he died before completing called An Agorist PrimerIncluded in this edition are critiques of the manifesto by a few other Libertarians, but each coming from slightly different influences. The one I agreed with the most would be the one presented by Murray N. Rothbard. While I would side more with Konkin's response, Rothbard did bring up some pretty good points about how there are some limitations to what agorism can do, that "voting" in and of itself isn't "evil," and that there isn't anything wrong with Charles Koch deciding to donate large sums of money to Libertarian organizations. But Rothbard unfortunately seems to really miss the power of the arguments SEK3 presents for agorism.In short, the New Libertarian Manifesto is undoubtedly an excellent take on how we go from statism to liberty. Great Book!

This is probably more my fault than anything, but I was looking for books on the "mainstream" libertarian movement, whereas this seems to reflect a more fringe sub-group. I thought it was the new "Libertarian Manifesto", not the "New Libertarian" Manifesto.If you are looking for the same, I recommend passing on this.
