So this book was designed to be a group study. However, we read it just as a mother/son duo. I had heard of this book and had heard the author speak at a conference, so i had really high expectations. It met my every expectation and more. My son is 10, and although they cover the basic sex ed info in school, I love the framework of WHY their bodies are changing, and how this can be something to celebrate! This was a great tool to guiding some parent/son discussions that I didn't know how to initiate on my own. This is NOT a book to hand to a tween and have them read on their own. We chose to read aloud together, but to leave the book in his room so he could check out the pictures on his own. :) The question/answer section was very thorough at the end, but a little TOO much info for my 10 year old, so we ended up putting that section aside for a later time. This book was a great way to grow closer to my son and have great conversation, and equip him with some skills he's going to need for middle school. We actually borrowed someone else's copy of this book, and ended up buying our own copy because he wanted to have it as a reference to look back on.

The book is very informative for kids going through puberty - it has everything a person could think of, every question answered, every issue relating to puberty and beyond. Definitely a worthwhile buy!

Taught the curriculum for 6 years at our local Lutheran church - love it. Always recommend the book for kids and the parent guide as well.

I felt it was a little too much information. I read through it and decided not to allow my child to read it.

My wife and I have taught Mr. Ritchie's class at our church for the past 10 years. This is the book that goes home with all of the students. It is an excellent book and it is very thorough. We've had some resistance from parents about putting their sweet little boy or girl in our class and exposing them to this material. Guess what, your child already knows a lot more than you think they do. We always tell parents that their children can, "learn it from you, learn it from us, or learn it on the bus." If they learn it on the bus then you don't have any control at all regarding the information they are receiving. Study after study shows that the best way to reduce STD's and teenage pregnancy is through education and open dialogue. An open, honest, and loving dialogue about sex is one of the best gifts you can ever give your child and Mr. Ritchie's book is a wonderful place to start. You have to reach children while their still young enough to receive the information. Please don't let your children find out about sex from the internet or from little Johnny down the street.

My wife bought this with the intention of using it to teach our son about human sexuality.As of today she hasn't opened it and I doubt she ever will

Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful classic story and it gets 5 stars. This particular printing, however, is completely unacceptable. It's as if someone typed it into a document, and printed it off--no page numbers, not titled at the top of each page, the lines don't even break properly (see photo). Purchased as a gift, thankfully with enough time to purchase a better quality copy--probably for less money! A disgrace to the publishing community.

I LOVED Anne of Green Gables as a child and own the complete hard copy of the Anne series. Initially, I was delighted to find this collection of books written by one of my all time favorite authors for only $0.99 (kindle price. What a steal!) and felt I had to get the digital copy for my kindle at once. As soon as the product was delivered to my device, I began to read it since it's been years since I've visited the darling world that L.M Montgomery created.I was very surprised to find that I kept tripping on certain sentences; the writing didn't seem as smooth as I remembered. When I got to chapter 6, I decided to compare a sentence in the digital print to my old, yellowing physical copy of Anne of Green Gables book. I realized why I had some difficulty reading my new digital copy: THERE ARE TYPOS IN THIS PRODUCT.It contains the WORST kinds of typos. There are typos in which it results in sentences that don't make sense. There are typos with the wrong pronouns in them that make it confusing for the reader to understand which character the publisher meant to write about. I am able to follow the story because I've read Anne of Green Gables more than once with my hard copy but for new readers, these typos will make this beautiful story difficult to read and at times, understand.I hope the digital copy can be fixed so that owners can enjoy L.M. Montgomery's work as it was meant to be enjoyed. I have given this two stars instead of one because of the fabulous price for kindle readers.

BUYER BEWARE! The version published by "CreateSpace" is slapdash print-on-demand garbage. I hoped an illustrated version would be good for a child, but I returned it on first inspection. Nowhere could I find evidence of thought or effort in layout to justify any price. Illustrations are small, extremely infrequent, and essentially worthless. Some shameless soul has simply taken LM Montgomery's text, which, as it is in the public domain, is freely available to anyone, and tried to make money selling it. Interested readers would be advised to download a free ebook or pay for a handsomer edition, such as the Puffin In Bloom version. We went with the Puffin in Bloom version and are much more satisfied.

This is a great book, but buying this edition which Marco Pedulla purports to have translated constitutes buying stolen property.The book was written in Englilsh, so Pedulla has translated nothing. What he has done has taken material free in the public domain and offered it on Amazon.Amazon should NOT support theft.

The illustrations are actually random pictures that are creepy since they are in the beginning when Anne meets Mathew Cuthbert so they insinuate a romance between them. And the free audiobook is click bait to set you up to download an app and give your email address to spammers. Screen shots of the "illustrations" below.

This review is of the kindle version of Anne: The Green Gables Complete Collection and does not reflect on the L.M. Montgomery text. The Anne books have always been favorites of mine. Buy the book, but get another edition! First issue: Really random pics grabbed from some art history textbook do not qualify as illustrations. They are more distracting than I would have imagined. Why didn't they leave the totally unrelated images out? Second issue: This is some new definition of complete that I am unacquainted with. This is Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea only. None of the later books are included. False advertising. A text I am being pulled out of by unnecessary distractions. There have to be better options. I am going in search of one.

Ha! Only the most basic of information presented, but proved the main point by taking my 99c! Well played! Don’t buy this.

It's more of a book about passive income through writing Amazon books and that industry...

I write a blog and have been considering ways to make passive income. While this book was a good primer, it really didn't tell me much more than I could have learned on my own. The author should take their own advice and make sure the ebooks have more information than expected, while holding back enough for additional ebooks. This was a 15 minute read so worth the effort.

The information is valuable but felt like I needed to know more options to passive income than those are considered obvious (writing a book or selling on ebay, amazon..). The tips given if going to write a book was valuable, so I felt it was worth the purchase.

This is a good short book but most of the concepts are fairly basic and don't elaborate beyond what you'd find on a blog of the same topic.

I found no information in this book that I haven't already checked out elsewhere.

Pretty basic and straightforward, which was a a plus in many ways. But it could use a little more information, especially ially about bloggibg

The information in this is easily found with a dictionary search and other internet searches. Not worth .99cents, but it’s an excellent example of making money from nothing.

Delightful children's book. Nicely illustrated with a simple storyline, but a surprise ending. Carson is looking for the surprise along the way and he -- plus the readers -- are not expecting what it turns out to be. Children and adults have fun with this.

Wish it talked more about each place they were visiting. Just a label on the picture would be perfect.

The book was bent when I got it!

I think the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa is one of the finest national history museums in the world. One can follow a single trail through the entire history of the country; it's sort of an historical version of a cross-country trip, just it's a cross-time trip. I thought of that as I read this book. Here, we get an impressionistic view of Canada as we travel from Tofino in the west all the way to Newfoundland. Coast, Rockies, Saskatchewan, Montreal, PEI - we get a little taste of everywhere.This is a kid's book, not a history or, really, a travelogue. It's not even explicit that we are following any particular route. We just start on one side, travel a long way, and end up on the other side. I guess parents could add whatever geography and history they might want to, as they read. But even just as a picture book, this is a treat. Carson and his mistress are cheerful and adventurous, and they make sure to have a good time as they travel and camp their way across the country. The vibe is upbeat and energetic. Carson is a peppy sort of dog and adds a good deal of personality to the trip.The illustrations are lively watercolors, intended to capture the spirit of the trip rather than the actual realistic landscape. The pair travels light and their tale is comfy and fun. It may not be Rand-McNally, but it gets across the size and variety of the country. It's also just a good lady-and-dog story. So, I'm in and I could see a little reader or read-to getting a kick out Carson and his travel adventure. 'Carson Crosses Canada' by Linda Bailey with illustrations by Kass Reich is a pretty cute story about a long road trip across a beautiful country.Annie lives on the West Coast of Canada in British Columbia with her dog Carson. One day, she gets a letter from her sister Elsie, and Annie decides to take a road trip to visit her sister. Carson doesn't have a suitcase, but he's happy when Annie remembers to pack his toy, Squeaky Chicken.Annie promises Carson that he will have a surprise, but as they travel through big trees and hoodoos and plains, Carson can't figure out what it could be.Annie is an intrepid traveler and Carson is the perfect travel companion. The art is beautiful in this picture book. Canada is a big, beautiful country and that shows as Annie and Carson make their journey. This is a really cute story and would be a nice read along for preschoolers.I received a review copy of this ebook from Tundra Books, Penguin Random House Canada, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked it but expected more. I would have liked if there was a page mentioned the name of each province, or it there was a running triptik along the bottom of the pages. The inside front cover and inside back covers have a map of the trip with 13 highlighted attractions, but the text of the book felt like the trip from BC to Niagara Falls was too quick. Nevertheless, it is a lovely book and flows well, and has several dog/human jokes, like "Ruff" (yes, it would be rough)... I expected it to be a running joke.. but it wasn't.... and Carson leaving a surprise a the Falls... The plot that Carson the dog is going to have a surprise, keeps one's interest

As a citizen of the United States I find it interesting to read books - especially illustrated books - about other countries. In the children's picture book Carson Crosses Canada we have a little doggie and a little old lady packing their suitcases (dog's and suitcases? Well, this is a children's imaginative book.) and get into their little yellow car and hit the road. They are crossing Canada to see her sister.The illustrations done in watercolors capture the essence of Canada's mountains, beautiful trees, and varied landscapes. Like the United States, Canada is a big, beautiful, and varied land of beauty.I think perhaps it would have been better had Carson, the doggie, not left his "little souvenir" on a grassy spot although we all know that is the nature of doggies.Their mapped route shown on the end pages also is a simple map of the grand land of Canada showing the provinces and places they stopped.A cute book and nice introduction to Canada for little ones.I received a complimentary copy from Librarything.com and the publisher and was not obligated to provide a review. I received this book as part of the LibraryThing Early Reviewer program. It is a cute picture book about a dog named Carson who, with his friend Squeaky Chicken and Annie travel across Canada to visit Annie's sister. The illustrations are wide-brush gouache paintings with vivid colors. I especially like that it has a map of Canada that shows their route, and that it showcases the beauty and variability of Canada.
